Skinners’ Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Pastoral Support Assistant to join the team at Skinners’ Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development and implementation of strategies that maintain the highest standards of student behaviour, wellbeing and personal development.

Key responsibilities
- Support the academy’s pastoral systems, helping to maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, engagement and conduct.
- Work with students who need additional support to regulate behaviour, resolve concerns and re-engage positively with learning.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of strategies that promote student wellbeing, mental health and personal development.
- Build strong working relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies to ensure timely and effective support.
- Keep accurate records, communicate clearly and contribute to safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral processes in line with academy policies.
- Support a culture of high expectations, inclusion and respect across the academy community.
About you
You will be a highly motivated professional who enjoys working as part of a high-performing team. You will be just as committed to supporting young people to achieve their full potential as you are to your own personal progress and professional development.
- Experience of supporting young people in a school, youth, pastoral or similar setting.
- A calm, consistent and restorative approach to behaviour and student support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with students, families and colleagues.
- An ethical commitment to inclusive education and the belief that every young person can succeed.
- Confidence in managing challenging situations with professionalism, discretion and care.
- Good organisation, record-keeping and follow-up skills.
